Our Amazing Views

What Is Terroir?

At Love Point Vineyards,  we are lucky have a unique micro-climate and location, known as terroir. Terroir is a French word meaning soil or earth, and in the wine world, it means the combined influence that the soil, sun, wind, and climate have on the growth of the grape and the finished product.

This is very important for growing the best grapes to make the finest wines. We are surrounded by the Chesapeake Bay, and this maritime influence helps moderate temperatures throughout the year.

Our breeze dries out morning dew and humidity which most of the east coast is known for. Our soil is soft sandy loam and the elevation is significantly higher than most of the Eastern Shore.
